iOS Screenshot Improvement Screens are shot to share Date: December 2016 Services: UX Design Problem: A large portion of the time, a user takes a screenshot with the intent of sharing that picture immediately. Currently, the process to achieve this result requires way too many screen presses. Solution: Open up a standard iOS “Share” drawer upon a long press of the home and power buttons when taking a screenshot. Outcome: The addition of a “Share” panel triggered by a long press of the home and power buttons cuts in half the total time from the capture of the picture to it being ready to send in a text message. It also reduces the amount of presses required from eight to three. An “Edit” button was also added into the share panel in order for the user to quickly edit the image before sharing it.
